Card data is encrypted andaccess is restricted strictly on a need-to-know basis.

Yes. All Hotel-Spider Payment Services are PSD2-compliant and handle StrongCustomer Authentication (SCA) automatically. When a guest books, the system detectswhether SCA is required for their card and guides them through two-factor authentication(2FA) via 3D Secure 2.0 — typically a code sent to their phone. A successful SCAgenerates an authentication token that shifts liability for the transaction from the hotel tothe guest. This token is then stored securely, allowing you to charge no-shows orcancellation fees without dispute risk.

For direct bookings via Spider-Booking, guests can be prompted to pay in full or in partat the time of booking, in real time and in a PSD2-compliant environment. For OTAbookings — where the OTA holds the card details — Hotel-Spider automatically contactsthe guest on your behalf before arrival, directing them to a secure payment screen tocomplete authentication and payment. This means even OTA guests can be asked topre-pay or validate their card before they arrive, regardless of which channel theybooked through.

When a guesthas completed SCA during the pre-stay flow, an authentication token is generated thatconstitutes their explicit authorisation for future charges.
